Brad Boswell

Brad Boswell serves as Appalachian State University’s chief compliance and ethics officer, a role he assumed in 2024. He leads the development and management of a comprehensive compliance and ethics program, including Enterprise Risk Management and Athletics Compliance. He also serves as the university’s ethics liaison to the North Carolina Ethics Commission.

Boswell joined App State in 2021 as assistant to the chancellor for athletics, where he directed the compliance program for seventeen varsity sports and approximately 450 student-athletes. He previously held compliance roles at Purdue University, the University of Southern California, and Georgia Tech.

Boswell earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and logistics and a master’s degree in sport management from the University of Tennessee. He also holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University. A lifelong swimmer and outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys exploring the High Country with his wife and daughter.
