Sorina McInturff, CFE

Sorina has been with Appalachian State University since 2005 and has a demonstrated track record in higher education. Sorina joined the Office of Internal Audits in February 2016. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, and a Master of Science in Applied Data Analytics, with a concentration in Cybersecurity. Sorina is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). She is also a member of the Information Security Advisory Council, Data Stewards Council, Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA), and the UNC Auditors Association (UNCAA). She has served as the Association Auditor for the UNCAA for two consecutive terms. She participated in the Council of Internal Auditing Peer Review Program and was a member of a Peer Review Team that conducted a Quality Assurance Review of an external state agency, as required by IIA's International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
