What is a Physical Accessibility Issue?
Encounters with a barrier to access (physical, programmatic, parking, etc.) on the basis of disability at Appalachian State University.
Examples
- The entrance ramp or sidewalk may be left covered in snow or ice or overgrown with shrubbery.
- Malfunctioning or broken handicap door.
- Object that protrudes into passageways without sufficient clearance distance.
- Parking area that lacks or blocks handicap access.
- Inaccessible or malfunctioning AV equipment in classroom or meeting spaces.
